Join Surfrider and Roots & Shoots at Foss Waterway Seaport as we celebrate Dr. Jane Goodall’s life, legacy, and planet-sized impact—because saving the world is better done together. Expect inspiring guest speakers, live music, and a beach cleanup to give our shorelines the TLC they deserve.
Surfrider partner and Tacoma Roots and Shoots ambassador Nateli Sanderson will lead our Goodall Day celebration, turning Dr. Goodall’s message of hope into real action on the ground.
Doors open at 1:30 p.m., the indoor program kicks off at 2:00 p.m., and beach cleanup runs from 3:00–4:00 p.m. Between sessions, swing by our info tables to dive deeper into the Jane Goodall Institute, Preserving PNW, and the Surfrider Foundation.

Les Davis Pier
Mark your calendar—these spots are disappearing faster than a rising tide. Join our Beach Cleanup on April 26, from 12–2 p.m. at Les Davis Pier, and help us wipe out pollution and litter on the shore and in the water.
You’ll team up with local volunteers, collect real data on what’s trashing our coastline, and be part of the movement pushing for stronger protections for our oceans. All ages and experience levels are welcome; we’ll provide supplies, simple instructions, and plenty of support.
Come out for two hours, leave a cleaner beach behind, and make a visible impact for our community and our coast.
