This fall, let’s give our coasts a little extra sparkle—Surfrider style! On September 20, ride the wave of International Coastal Cleanup Day ICCD where 16 million volunteers in 150 countries unite for the world’s biggest beach cleanup. Clean the Pacific Coast or tackle your favorite South Sound spot—every bag of trash is a tidal win. Solo Cleanup.
Join us on October 8th, 6:30pm-8pm, at Tacoma Pie for our Chapter Meeting. Enjoy FREE pizza at this certified Ocean Friendly Restaurant and learn practical ways to reduce plastic waste by repurposing everyday items.
And don’t ghost your chance for fun—slide into your best costume for our legendary Halloween Cleanup Party at Jack Hyde Park on October 18th, 10am-12pm. Come for the laughs, stay for the impact, and let’s make these shores shine!
Participate in a chapter event and buy a membership on-site and receive a complimentary gift. By donating $20 or more, you not only support our mission but also receive a limited edition reusable Surfrider market bag or a stylish beach bag! Membership
Every Surfrider Chapter is steered by a lively crew of volunteers who wear many hats on the Executive Committee—sometimes all at once! We've got five main gigs, plus a few extra roles for those who like to keep things interesting. Volunteering means you'll be rubbing elbows at monthly EC meetings, getting sandy at beach cleanups, and mingling at chapter shindigs throughout the year. To kick things off and get cozy with our team, dive into a beach cleanup, pop by a chapter meeting, and make sure your Surfrider membership is as current as your sunscreen. Check out the volunteer roles below. Current openings include Co-Chairs, Volunteer Co-Coordinator, Beach Cleanup Co-Coordinator, and Finance/Accounting.
