From cleaning up ocean pollution, to testing our coastal waters, as well as reducing single use plastics, our programs ensure that our marine ecosystems stay protected.
The South Sound Chapter hosts monthly beach cleanups the 2nd Saturday of the month throughout the Puget Sound Region. Locations and times vary due to the tide. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram for full event details.
The Surfrider beach cleanup program tackles the ocean litter issue through action and community service. Join us and volunteer at a cleanup as we are all part of the solution. Together we can restore our coastlines, one beach at a time!
The South Sound Blue Water Task Force is our volunteer water testing, education, and advocacy program. Our task force volunteers collect data and results from testing sites to alert the public and officials within the Puget Sound about water quality issues.
The South Sound Ocean Friendly Restaurants program tackles plastic pollution at its source. One restaurant, one customer at a time, it increases awareness on single use plastic within the restaurant industry, drives behavior change, and ultimately creates a scalable impact to reduce our plastic footprint.
South Sound Surfrider's Rise Above Plastics program is designed to eliminate the impacts of plastics in the marine environment. We offer simple solutions for proper recycling through program education and awareness involving the dangers of plastic pollution in our oceans.
