Hillsborough County Fertilizer Ordinance

Eleven years ago, many environmental groups championed an effort to enact a fertilizer ban in Hillsborough County. At that time, the Board of County Commissioners listened to lobbyists for the fertilizer and lawn care companies and voted down the proposal. Now is the time to right that past wrong and pass a fertilizer ordinance that will prevent unnecessary runoff that fuels red tide, fish kills, and contributes to the loss of seagrass within Tampa Bay. 

Finally on November 17th 2021, the motion carried and passed 7-0!
